Promoting Uttarakhandi Culture and Language _____
- Dhuri Foundation is dedicated to safeguarding the rich cultural heritage and linguistic diversity of Uttarakhand by actively promoting its traditions, folk arts, and native languages. Through its flagship event, Betalghat Mahotsav, a mega cultural, craft, and folk festival held in Betalghat (Nainital), the foundation provides a vibrant platform for traditional music, dance, local crafts, and regional customs. To further strengthen cultural roots among the younger generation and the Uttarakhandi diaspora, the foundation also conducts language classes in Delhi (NCR) for Kumauni, Garhwali, and Jaunsari languages. The impact of these initiatives lies in reconnecting the new generation with their roots, fostering cultural pride, preserving linguistic heritage, and ensuring that Uttarakhand’s identity continues to thrive across generations.
Empowering Women Through Skill Development____
- Dhuri Foundation is committed to empowering women by equipping them with practical skills that enhance self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods. Under its key initiatives, the foundation conducts technical training programs, including the Pirul Workshop led by Mrs. Manju R. Shah, where women are trained to creatively craft eco-friendly gift items from locally available resources. Alongside skill development, the foundation actively promotes the sale of locally made products, helping women access markets and generate steady income. The impact of these initiatives is visible in the economic empowerment of women, enabling them to gain financial independence, confidence, and a stronger role in their families and communities.
